I understand that intersex stuff isn't really talked about outside of intersex circles and I don't fault anyone for being genuinely ignorant. However. I feel like I'm not asking for the moon when I say "hey if you're gonna use a word that refers to a specific minority you should probably look up what that word actually means first." Not only because you are gonna look pretty silly acting like you're smashing the binary and you're sooo much smarter than cis people when you are showing off very obviously that you didn't even bother reading the wikipedia page on intersex people. But also because I, personally, tumblr user verse "versegm" segm, would like to be able to look shit up without having to wade through mountains of unrelated shit first.

Unrelated to fandom stuff but I would like to kindly remind people once again that "intersex" does not mean "non-binary." So it would be quite swole if you guys could stop filling the intersex tag with pictures of your ocs like "haha gender is fake ;) cis people fear them :p" thank you very much.

gotta say... as clunky as the translations of the h-scenes in fsn often are, the first sex scene w/ sakura in the heaven's feel route is much better than the sfw version.

i do wish the translation of the h-version of the scene was less clunky, because then the horrifying shift in tone would be a lot more clear and it would hit even harder, but even with that being said, it's still more tonally and thematically resonant, imo.

i feel much less strongly about the earlier scene with rider, but yeah.

conversely, with the other routes i don't feel too strongly either way? i didn't actually play through the non-h versions the last time i read fsn, but i decided to take the time to read both h and non-h versions of those scenes. i feel like most of the non-h versions are actually more well-written than the h-versions, but i really don't know if this is simply due to clunky translation or if it's due to the original writing.

(the scene in the ubw route stands out as one where i think i might actually prefer the non-h version. which is shocking because man, i do love porn. ଘ(੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧)

the Heaven's Feel sex scenes are good BECAUSE they're not sexy. You're not playing a cute romcom that ends in fulfilling sex, you're playing a horror story and the plot will not pause just so you can whip your dick out. There is something Wrong With You and something Even More Wrong with your gf and it impacts every single aspect of your life which happens to include sex. You're not getting out of it the narrative will not stop so you the reader can have a nice time there is something terrible haunting these people and you WILL feel uncomfortable even in a scene that involves two consenting and loving partners.
